D·ENERGY uses a low frequency “long range” transmission protocol, which means that it is able to cover great distances and overcome architectural barriers such as walls, doors, reinforced concrete, etc.

Like any wireless device, the range of the signal is affected by many factors that vary from place to place, making it very difficult to give a precise estimate.

The image below is used to give a rough idea of the signal transmission in a building (buildings with many floors were the subject of our tests, as they represent the most difficult situation for a wireless transmission).

As shown in the image it is not easy to say for sure what is distance the signal can cover. In fact, it depends on the positioning of D·ENERGY with respect to DiCE SMART.

  • In an optimal case, where D·ENERGY is perpendicular to DiCE SMART, the transmission distance could even exceed the 6th floor.
  • If the situation becomes complicated, as in the case indicated by the yellow arrow, the transmission distance may be reduced. The signal remains stable only on the lower floors of the building.
  • The worst case is represented by the presence of many load-bearing walls and high distance. The signal is attenuated by the numerous obstacles and transmission problems may occur already on the 2nd floor.

Based on our experience and tests carried out in different types of structures, the maximum distance covered is 6 floors.

D·ENERGY is able to self-adapt and increase the transmission power if this is not sufficient to reach DiCE SMART/DiCE CARE  . As a result, an increase in signal transmission power will shorten battery life.
